‘’ Sometimes you don’t know what a person has experienced or developed before Your introduction to them.
You may not know what endeavors and paths an artist has taken before they become known to you. ‘’
So this is yet anotha one of those quotes from Ar-DuB that I believe to be so relayable and relatable.
It’s another reason that i am able to expose myself to so many different styles of music as well as artists from all over
i mean .. I too am aware of the fact that bunches of greatness was produced by Picasso before he "made his name" ..
i am also aware that Ray Charles was Ray Charles before we knew him as such.. (as mentioned in a Smokey Robinson affiliated documentary)
and That before we knew of him from Jamie Foxx’s role rendition of Mr. Charles in the motion picture / feature film known as Ray
that was from earlier in This millennium (hehe) .. and i am one to so convey this concept as well ..
This is the second edition of Public Post 1 found here : yeah.. ova here ..
or right here : http://djtube.com/dj-group/were-more-djs-we-love-music-too
.. So I am going to refer to some of the ideas introduced in that first edition, but that quote even relates to another quote that i featured in that one:
'' Yeah .. i love music too ... but i also like music because of it's ability to share light upon cultures and perceptions. That ability to grant some understanding of languages... even the ability to assist in the teaching and learning processes.
Yeah .. music is definitely one of my blessings ... so i have to share it as well. ''
so on that note .. I’m gonna reiterate of few of what has been discussed and is radiating among our issues.
"So here ... in this public post ... i want to not take it too far off on a tangent as i throw to about a handful of works that relate to the subject:
# Take for instance the video for this track called '' Brand New Style ''
that is actually in FRENCH .. performed by onejah
you see... i don't speak French like that, but the video left me in amazement. I like the song.. and even made a bit of a comentary about it there.
You can find this video on youtube and here:
it's got that Caribean island style feel to it
did i mention dat it's in French .. and dat they are really doing their thang .. hehe
i think that she's Haitian .. and maybe Parisian affiliated due to travels .. i love it though
i’ve heard more of her work and interviews .. and well.. she definitely has an undeniable appeal
# Another video that i'd like to refer to is called '' All My Life ''
that can be found here:
i'm especially referring to this song by Jay Rock feat. Lil Wayne because it actually has SPANISH subtitles ... or ... '' (subtitulado en español) ''
it's cool to be able to gain a bit of insight on multi-cultural slanguage.
## Now let me toss it to another truly amazing work brought to you by Damien Marley (you know... Mr. Bob Marley’s son) and Nas .
This video and song is just so profound to us. To say the least, right.
What you have here is a track called “Patience” and maaann.. These guys really went in on this one too.
Please give yourself the time to see this video or hear the song.. For that is a reward in itself ..
Here is a link to the video found on their collaborative youtube site :
I have found special significance in this work as it undoubtably reminds me of a publication called Blacks in Science
that is to be featured for its intriguing insights.
The book includes a plethora of references in an easily compiled and researchable format
as well as a plethora of details pertaining to our World history.. you know .. some history of planet earth’s cultures
of societies on a universal level that may be omitted from the elementary curriculums.
But that’s of exploration elsewhere .. and let’s get back into this mix right here .. hehe ..
## I’ve gotta take it over to this one right here :
that’s a hearty track brought to you by Trae the truth featuring Lynzie Kent .. and I am much more than just a fan of this track right here. It’s called “Not My Time” and it is one of those collaborations with so much feeling and conceptual conveyance put into it.
Trae is an original member of the South’s uprising, as he was with DJ Screw in the beginnings ... you know .. when the S.U.C. had yet to expand what was to be a movement of epic proportions ..
Before people from all around the world would inquire about “Screwed and Chopped” versions of their favorite songs and albums. hehe ..
&& Both fortunately and unfortunately . . We don’t have access to all of the disclosures of a person’s resume’
realizing this can help you to understand how it is possible for people to dedicate their lives to certain issues. . to certain projects and works... to certain careers.
# On that note, i tink i'll go to this next video right here:
it is such a wonderous and inspiring tribute .. how could i not refer to it here ... sometimes we overlook how much creativity has fueled various facets of our lives and culture ... this one is of reminiscence ..
and the song that it is set to is ''Dying for Love'' by Shun Ward ...
and it is so beautiful to say the least
# Next ... i want to take it on over to NY
well actually .. to a couple of tracks by Lulu S.
she is extremely talented, and if i may recommend one track to hear for now ... i suppose that i'll tell you '' Miles Away ''
you can find some of her music here:
'' i was sharing some of her work with one of the artists that i'm working with named Brown ShuGah .. and she relayed and i quote that the music of Lulu S. that she heard was
“Wonderfully awesome And Soul-sweetening†..
and si ..
i would have to agree.''
# Okayso, that brings us to another artist of affiliation... that goes with the subjects at hand. he is known for blending languages, perceptions, and linguistic concepts that convey society in an artful, sometimes abstract way.
Ar-DuB has that cinematic quality about him that allows me to throw it here.
You can now get at some of his music at this locale that i am presenting to you right here:
there u can find some streamable sampleclips of music available to download, and you can even get to a
poetry track by Brown ShuGah called “Love-Life” ..
I’ll note that ‘’this is a wonderful poetry track right here by Brown ShuGah .. she was nominated for Best Poetry Piece for her label. This is one from '08, but i do believe that it's also a part of that Featured Presentations series that an affiliated label is working with.
''It Definitely is one of my favorite'' (and that's coming from a someone that shared stage with poets featured by Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam ..
a great piece right here yo ‘’
